It is Friday night and despite the rainy, cold weather, people are gathered at the Edward Cinema in Long Beach to watch Peter Jackson's movie "The Lovely Bones" starring Mark Wahlberg.

This movie is about a murdered 14 year old girl whose soul tries to help bring her family together to find her killer. Unable to reach the rest of her family, she communicates with her father (Mark Wahlberg) and leads him to find that the person who murdered his daughter lives right next door.

Filled with much drama and suspense, Jackson's brings out his creativity with colorful scenes that really set the mood of the film.

On my way out of the theater, I ran into a young girl named Lisa, who was out with her friends.

I asked Lisa what her opinion of the movie was and she replied, "I really liked the movie, but it could've been a little clearer, I mean some parts of the movie left me a little confused."

Next was a couple from Whittier named Ramon and Lizette. I asked what they thought about Mark Wahlberg's performance. Ramon said: "There should've been some ass kicking, that's what was missing from Mark Wahlberg. There definitely could've been some more action on his part."

Lizette's thoughts were a little different. "I think he plays an excellent role as a loving father. He did a good job and it really seemed like he got into character."

After interviewing these three people inside of the theater, I went outside to find some more people.

I asked Jessica, from Cerritos what she thought about the movie overall. "I read the book and it seems like the movie leaves out a lot of detailed information. If Peter Jackson would've followed the book a little more the movie would've been a lot better. I would recommend for people who have watched the movie to read the book it is way more detailed."

Libby from Santa Fe Springs said, "It kind of creeped me out. Just knowing that something like this movie actually does happen in real life scares me. I really liked it though, I would recommend it to anybody who asks me about it. It is definitely worth going to the movies for."

"The Lovely Bones" is now playing at most theaters in the South Coast area. Check for your local listings.
