Three Musketeers Review

When the actors left the theater after their final bow in "The Three Musketeers," I wanted to go get the autographs of the infamous musketeers Porthos, Aramis, and Athos.

"Into the Woods" Performance Review

"Into the Woods" has disappeared from Cypress College. The recent October production, directed by Jim Hormel, offered a wide range of audience emotions. The play contained several, fractured fairy tales, some with mature concepts that were linked together in one way or another.

Bye Bye Birdie Review

If you haven't seen Cypress College's production of Bye Bye Birdie yet, it's a must-see on your list of things to do. Jim Hormel has outdone himself once again as an unbelievable director. The screams of young women in love with a rock star fill the theater.

Island Review

Follow Up

"Once on this Island," was a well rounded, and entertaining performance. With ethnic dancing and singing the characters and the story really seemed to come together. There was an upper class and lower class that they portrayed. The white colors were worn by the rich class and the earth tones by the peasants.

Trick r’ Treat movie review

During the late 70's and early 80's, anthology horror movies were all the rage in the U.S. The genre has existed for years, but films like Tales From The Crypt and Creepshow captured the heart of many horror aficionadoS and helped give rebirth to a genre that stayed strong for a little over a decade. Unfortunately, as with all horror trends, the anthology film was made to death. In the mid-90's, around the time the cringe worthy Tales From the Hood was released, it was clear America had lost its taste for the genre.

Ice Age

Another wave of movies hit the scene as kids are out of school with money in their pockets for the summer. What better way of spending your time for the summertime than to relax in a comfortable chair with the air conditioning blasted throughout the room. Movie theatres are placed throughout the country and can accommodate you in these areas.

Music Review: Shiny Toy Guns

Shiny Toy Guns Season of Poison (11 tracks) Genre: Electro Goth-Rock I first heard Shiny Toy Guns on Indie 103 when they played the first single Ricochet off this album. It's a dark, brooding, hardcore goth-rock song that's great for head banging. So I ran out to find the CD, and let me tell you, it was money well spent! STG's second album Season of Poison is melodic and somewhat rock-oriented with some atmospheric undertones and electro programming.

Music Review: Oasis

Oasis Dig Out Your Soul (11 tracks) Genre: Brit-Rock Gone Whiney & Pretentious When this CD came into the newsroom, I cringed. Well, o.k., I opened the package … then I cringed. To say that I hate Oasis would be like saying George Bush hates reading.

Glee is an interesting high school drama in which the kids that go there sing. Sound familiar? It sounds kind of like High School Musical, which I have never seen but the show Glee is pretty interesting, if you're into the high school drama. I'm not much on the show, I only watch it when forced, however I love the remakes of the music
