Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Chargers headed to Golden West for a much anticipated match-up Halloween night. The last these teams met, the match broke out in a fight and ended early with Cypress up 4-1. The result would be the opposite this time as Golden West avenged their loss with a 4-1 win. Freshman forward Jay Kinnear scored the only Cypress goal. As was expected, the match was physical resulting in six yellow cards and one red card. Freshman keeper Giovanni Guzman played 75 minutes for the Chargers picking up six saves.

This loss drops Cypress from third to fifth in conference and deals a blow to their playoff hopes as they on the bubble at 11th in power points in the Southern Region. The Chargers have three more games to boost their standing. They move on next to host Riverside who they lost to last time narrowly 2-3. Riverside is 3-6-1 in conference. Cypress hosts the Tigers Friday at 3:00 pm.
